SGCOA President, Antonio Garrido has signed an agreement with Mr. Juan Manuel Asensi, President of the Spanish Footgolf Federation and Founder of the International Footgolf Federation to introduce this new sport to golf courses with special discounts and different national and international events.
The members of the SGCOA will have an important discount of 30% to introduce the footgolf in the golf course with the footgolf course design (by Global Golf Company), all the holes, balls, footgolf flags, and a business plan to introduce it. The main role of FootGolf for golf courses is to open the golf doors to new players.
Mr. Juan Manuel Asensi was an international football player, captaining of the Spanish National Team and also played at Barcelona Football Club. Following this agreement the SGCOA and the Spanish Footgolf Federation are organising the first big event at Cuenca Golf Club, managed By Global Golf Company.
Here there will be a tournament using the new footgolf course of 11 holes. It has created a number of holes (2 par 5, 3 par 3, 3 par 4) through integrating the rough areas, trees and lakes within the footgolf course. This diversification does not only allow for a different sport to promote courses but has been shown to further the sales of Food and Beverages extensively.
