Golf course at 18 km from the very centre of Kraków
Royal Kraków Golf Golf & Country Club (RKGC) is at present a 9 holes golf course in Ochmanów at 18 km from “Rynek Glowny”, the very centre of the former Royal Residence Kraków in South-Poland. With fully owned land for 18 holes it is located in the hills of the former Hunting Grounds of the Jagiellonian Kings. It’s a links-park type course with height differences up to 20m per hole. Two streams meander through and aside of the course. The future 18 holes course will be interesting for championships.
The Area
Greater Kraków has some 1,5 million inhabitants and is a prosperous conglomerate. 20% of the population is highly educated. ±150.000 students to 21 universities provide a concourse of new work force for the IT-, Pharma- and Outsourcing industry. Unemployment is under 3%! The economic growth rate in Poland has been positive since 2004 and will exceed 3,5% for 2015 and is expected to be 4% in 2016. The golf course lies in the natural expansion area of Kraków and the last few years nice new effluent districts have been developed.
Communications with Kraków are good, by road it’s about a 30 min. drive to the very centre. The E40 is at a distance of 3 km and by 2017 there will be a direct highway entrance. Near that intersection will be a train station connecting within 10 minutes to Kraków Central Station.
Facilites & Design
In the above design of the future 18 holes course, the holes of the existing 9 holes course are numbered 10 – 11 – 12 – 13 – 14 – 15 – 16 – 2 – and in reverse hole 1 using the future no. 18 as no. 9. The present club house will be available for another three years, presuming that by then the future new club house has been realized. For measuring purposes, the distance between + + is 100 m.
Also the height lines are clearly visible, marking one meter height difference. The development of the two “Building area” (not included in the sales) is planned as from 2016. The upper left one will comprise some 50 houses in the upper middle class market segment. The lower middle one some 60 houses in this market segment. The idea is to include a two years subscription to the golf club in the purchase by the new house owners and this may bring some 100 new members from these two
The Driving Range has 5 covered bays and 10 practice positions on two irrigated practice tees. Together with a Range Servant ball dispenser with magnetic card & token system, a towed high speed ball collector its a valuable tool to educate new golfers.
A well functioning greenkeeping staff with a complete machinery take care of a good quality level.
The course has its own water source, avoiding high irrigation costs and allowing a computer directed irrigation system for the greens and tees.
Although golf in Poland still is in its infancy, Royal Kraków Golf has over 200 regular players and a golfers association with 110 members of which 87 with a handicap under 36.
